Freedom

I asked mom if I could fly,
And just be free.
She said “No. You need wings,
And you need to stay with me.”

So day and night I prayed,
Wishing to leave,
Then I cried and said,
“I want to be free.”

Then one day I woke up,
And heard some one sing.
Then I looked in the mirror,
To see I had wings.

I opened my hand,
And found a key,
To remove the chain,
That had been put on me.

I went down to mom and said
“You can’t hold me,
I’m going to fly,
I’m ment to be free.”

So I flew away and did not look back,
I heard mom cry
Then I said “I love you mom,
But this is good-bye.”
